Happy New Year

Year 2009 is the year of challenge! This is the time to truly show what we are capable of. We need to be focus, to be consistent, and to be forward-looking. Things may not turn out as expected; however, the important attitude is to face them and get on them. Nothing is better than archiving your goals with your friends and family together.

To everyone, I wish you all have a wonderful year! Our future is in our hands!

My *secret* NYE dish

Some attentions has been caught on my Facebook. So what is my so-call *secret* NYE dish? This is a secret dish because I haven’t finalized what to bring to tonight’s housewarming/NYE party at my friend’s place in Mississauga. The party will begin soon so I found it doesn’t hurt to unveil the secret: seafood and chicken fettuccine with home-made alfredo sauce.

Yes, the alfredo is home-made! This is the first time I made alfredo myself. I usually pretty easy going with food; however, tonight this is new year’s eve and I am more than happy to cook for friends. Nothing is better than good food and good company, right?

The recipe for the alfredo is not too complicated and pretty straightforward. It can yield 4 cups of sauce.

• 5 cups Heavy whipping cream
• 1 cup Chicken broth
• 1/8 lb Butter
• 2 Tbsp. Garlic – chopped
• 1 tsp. Kosher salt
• 1 tsp. White pepper
• 6 Tbsp. White wine
• 1 cup Parmesan cheese – shredded

In a sauce pot over medium heat, cook the garlic and butter until soft. Add the heavy cream, wine, salt and pepper and reduce until a thin sauce consistency is achieved. Remove from heat and stir in the parmesan cheese.

Notes that whipping cream bubbles over very easily. Keep an eye on it. If it begins to boil over, reduce the heat.

Making this sauce takes approximately 20 minutes. I will update this post by putting pictures of how the dish looks Bye for now!

某一年一班剛剛考完會考嘅同學約埋一齊唱K
流行曲唱到一半嘅時候
其中一位朋友問咗隔離嗰位一個問題
喂　你估吓二十年後嘅今日我地會變成一個咩人呢

二十年後
可能已經變成一個西裝骨骨嘅中環人
手帶勞力士　銀包有好多張信用卡
放工嘅時候就一齊响酒吧度
一邊望住個煙灰盅
一邊就望住隔離檯嗰個女仔
睇吓佢條裙幾時會走光

二十年後
大概終於會買咗個部好想擁有既汽車
但係仲有二十幾期要供

Yet another blogger (from HK)

I was chatting with Tong-Man (a very good high-school friend of mind from HK) on MSN and I realized that she was a casual blogger too. Basically casual blogger is a term that I come up with to describe people who blog occationally. Some people I know they blog almost everyday and that requires a lot of efforts (and time, which i don't have … haha). Sometimes I think if people can blog everyday, they probably should become a freelace columnlist and make some money! I wouldn't say those are easy money, but, might as well, right?

Yet another innovative blog

Brian has finally joined to blogging community (whoohoo!!). Brian is a person who does not like to order combo for his meal. Although Blogger has already offered quite a bit of functionalities, Brian thinks it is not good enough. He hacked the blogger template source code and get rid of the blogger top bar in his blogger. Furthermore, he implemented a labeling system (or category tag) in this blog, just like what Gmail has. He also made a walking red dot (WFT!?) on his blog's title bar. Man, it's a pure JScript/DHTML implementation and it is impressive (!!)

Trip to HK Disneyland

HK Disneyland has opened for almost three months now and it has been attracting a lot of tourists worldwide. Friend of mine Jannie who went to HK Disneyland on 27th and 28th for her niece's birthday and here are the pictures she shared online.

Allan’s online photo album

Allan is my best bud in HK and he is a super nice guy! We used to play basketball together while we were in high school in HK. I went to HK this summer after I graduated. He told me that he was now in to digital photography. He has his own online photo album to share his photos, such as Trip to Taiwan and Christmas Décor in HK. He also has his pet cat (see pictures below … and it's real!!) and she is called 囡囡 (in English means my beloved daughter).
